Helen Zarin hails from the ancient metropolis of Shiraz, Persia, which is home to poets, writers, architects, gardens, world famous pistachios, and the internationally acclaimed Shiraz red wine grapes.
Helen grew up as an Orthodox Jew in a Muslim land. This presented her with many challenges and difficulties. Helen can remember beginning to paint at the early age of five. Showing talent, her influential family encouraged her to invest in her artistic endeavors.
As a high school student, she studied with the well-known Persian artist and teacher, Saber. Later she enrolled in the Art and Culture Society, a national organization for gifted Persian artists. As a student of art and culture, she refined her skills in the various mediums, especially pastels and oils. Helen was recognized by the Iranian Society and earned many national awards for her works.
Conditions in her native country eventually compelled Helen to turn elsewhere for creative nourishment. “Hard work and talent are not enough for an artist to progress and blossom; creative freedom in the right atmosphere is essential”, she remarked. In the pursuit of these artistic prerequisites, she journeyed first to Europe where she displayed her works in Vienna before coming to the U.S. in 1993.
Her painting style delves into the impressionistic with abstract elements of bold color. Her sweeping brush strokes flow across her paintings pouring the emotion of love, intimacy, joy and angst onto her canvases.
Helen has acquired a worldwide following of collectors. In 2104 her work was included in an exhibition at the Mizel Judaic Museum in Denver Colorado and hung with the work of Chagall and other notable Jewish artists.
Helen brings to the gallery a body of new work which will include her concept of dance, music, abstracts, flowers and atmospheric landscapes. Zarin shares her artistic vision to the world despite all odds.
The gallery walls are filled with our premier artists’ works in a diverse range of mediums and techniques. The show features the new abstract series of paintings by Maya Eventov, the hyper -realism, still life wine prints by Thomas Arvid and the paint and collage shadow boxes of Craig Alan.
Also on display the expressionistic images of Hessam Abrishami, abstract work of Aleta Pippin and faces and figures of Helen Zarin.
New glass artist to the gallery is Richard Satava who is known for his incredibly stunning hand blown glass forms. His jellyfish are collected by glass enthusiast from all over the world.
