Carmen Simmonds uses the lost wax casting process to cast dresses in her ongoing “investigation into why women dress the way they do in their time.”  Simmonds, who received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a distinction in glass in 2002, loves clothing and is fascinated by the questions that surround fashion at any given time in history.

Carmen is currently working in cast glass and mixed media from her rural studio in Wanganui, New Zealand.
