Ioan Nemtoi studied at the Tonitza Institute of Fine Arts in Bucharest, Romania. His work has been displayed globally including in Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Norway, Hollan, Sweden, and the United States.

According to Nemtoi, art is universal and therefore it must be available to as many people as possible. Nemtoi has exhibited his work in a large number of countries and he frequently teaches in Japan and the States.
