James Nowak learned how to blow glass with Dale Chihuly, Flora Benjamin Moore, Richard Royal, Dante Marioni, William Morris and many others. One of the most influential to him is Dale Chihuly who allowed Nowak to work with him on one of this winter glass-blowing teams held in Pilchuck.
A coordinated glass team is like poetry in motion. Like a well-choreographed dance, each person has his or her part. Nowak’s part is to lead the group, and with their assistance, execute the piece. Each piece, and all the designs, is personally hand formed by Nowak. With his signature comes his vision and the lucky owner of the piece takes a little part of Nowak with him.
