Nourot Glass Studio
Susan Benjamin Glass Etc. is proud to present the work of NOUROT GLASS
STUDIO (pronounced new-row). Nourot glass Studio is the partnership of
Michael Nourot and Ann Corcoran, two uniquely talented glass artisans.
All of the pieces made at Nourot Glass Studio are handcrafted in the
ancient traditions of glassmaking. This type of glassmaking is called “free
blown” because no molds are used so no two pieces are ever exactly alike
after careful inspection only those of the finest quality are signed with
the Nourot signature.
Nourot Glass is shown in museum shops and contemporary art galleries
across the country as well as in Europe and the Orient. The works of
Nourot are in the permanent collection of the Corning Museum of Glass,
the Stuart Powell Museum, The Lannan Foundation, the Bergstrom-Mahler
Museum, as well as many private collections.
COLLECTIONS:
Red Satin: these exquisite pieces of glass are beautiful in every way. They
exhibit the fine glass working of the Nourot studio. They have gold
interiors and dark red exteriors with bands of abstract designs.
African Toffee: this series is wild and exotic. The pieces in this series
include perfume bottles, vases and bowls. They have a brown and black
animal print with gold flecks throughout allowing the light to glimmer off
the glass forms.
Perfume Bottles: the Nourot perfume bottles speak for themselves.
Created optically they play tricks on the eye.
