Tim Monday
Tim Monday was born in 1962 and raised in Oracle, Arizona, just
outside of Tucson. In 1990, he received a Bachelor of Fine Arts
degree from Arizona State University in Tempe.
While attending college, Monday worked as a fine art printer on
serigraph editions by several prominent artists including John
Nieto, Bill Schenck and Howard Post among others. For the
past several years, Monday has devoted himself full time to
developing his own imagery and style.
"I use icons and imagery from many different cultures in my
work. I think they provide a frame of reference or perspective
that gives the work a form of continuity that purely abstract
work doesn't have. I love the entirely abstract work of others
but for my own work I need something to give it context."
Monday's work hangs in public and private collections
throughout the Southwest including the Phoenician Resort,
First Interstate Bank and Good Samaritan Hospital, Phoenix, AZ.
