Peter Max
With paintings on exhibition in hundreds of museums and galleries
worldwide, Peter Max and his vibrant colors have become part of the
fabric of contemporary culture. Max has been successively called a
Pop Icon, Neo Fauvist, Abstract Expressionist and the United State's
"Painter Laureate." The artist has the distinct honor of painting the
last seven Presidents of the United States and the world's best loved
celebrities, among them the young sensation Taylor Swift. This exhibit
features paintings of the magnificent Texas favorites: Flag of Texas, the
iconic Dallas Cowboys helmet, the University of Texas Longhorns
helmet, Statue of Liberty, Max’s famous “Flag” pieces, “Umbrella Man”
and the prestigious 10 Cent Stamp bearing the title “Preserve the
Environment”. There will also be presentations of never-before-seen
celebrity portraits.
Chosen by Norwegian Cruise Lines to paint the hull of its luxury cruise
liner Breakaway in the iconic "Peter Max" style, this 2011 honor is yet
another compliment to the legend that is Peter Max, the artist who
painted a Continental Boeing 777 Jumbo Jet, a 600 foot stage for
Woodstock Music Festival, and a giant mural for the 2002 Winter
Olympics.
