Glasshouse Studio
Susan Benjamin Glass Etc. is proud to present the work of GLASSHOUSE
STUDIO, which features the work of Mark Monson, John Rajala,
Christopher Sternberg-Powidzki, Craig Maxwell and Siphahndon
Inthapany. The Glasshouse Studio was founded in 1972 in Seattle,
Washington and is the oldest glassblowing studio in the Northwest and
continues to produce exquisite glass. In March 1998, the team of
artists/employees purchased the Studio, bringing a wide variety of
backgrounds and philosophies to their work. Their commitments to
their craft and each other have created this opportunity to design and
produce one of a kind and limited production editions of fine
handmade glass. They can be seen working in their studio daily.
COLLECTIONS:
Renaissance: This series includes, but it not limited to, paperweights,
perfume bottles and vases. These pieces feature fields of abstract
decoration on a background of bold colors.
Shell: This collection is the newest work created by the Glasshouse
Studio. These exotic large forms are blown into optic molds creating
vessels with ribbons of color spiraling around them. They resemble
giant tropical shells on a mythological beach.
Classic: Traditional ideas with an exciting new twist, the Classic series
serves as a standard of excellence in art glass. This series combines
classic lines with new intriguing design concepts.
